  2. I have to send it in parts because it's super long. Luckily it has four different points of view so I can send it by that

  3. PART 1: A male lion was on watch duty. His mane clung still to his neck in the hot night air. Amber eyes flickered across the savannah. His pride was safe.

Suddenly his whiskers tingled. He sensed another animal. He opened his mouth to scent the air, and there it was: an unlionly stench. He curled his mouth into a snarl and slid into the alert hunter's crouch, his tail swiftly darting back and forth. He knew this smell, although not entirely common. It was his duty to protect his family and fellowship and was not going to let ANYTHING harm it.

    1. PART 2: Across the tall grass, under a bonsai tree, a dragon perched on a branch. Her wings and legs were tucked tightly under her belly, and a slender tail draped across the top of a tree limb. She had been hunting, accompanied by her eagle companion, Airwind, when she spotted movement near Sun Pride. Now they were roosted up in a tree and as silent as the owl flies, so to speak, completely blended in with the tree and hidden from view.

"What is this--" Airwind whispered before Scorch clamped her beak shut. She bent her head apologetically and they watched as gray shadows flitted across the savannah in single file. The creatures were crouched in the grasses. The lion didn't seem to see them, but he could certainly smell them. They weren't very silent either, they seemed inexperienced with stalking this terrain. Then, there was a sudden strike, and a tuft of fur fell to the ground.

  4. PART 3: Goldenstar wrestled the wolf off of him, pinning it to the ground and baring his fangs. He suppressed a loud roar of warning to the pride as another wolf leapt on him and ripped into his pelt with its claws. He swatted it away and landed a blow to its face, sending it skidding across the ground. His eyes shifted from one wolf to another, and they turned tail and fled. He roared again and paced menacingly across the grass.

Before Goldenstar could react, a silvery wolf had appeared behind him and tackled him, landing squarely on his shoulders and ripping into his mane. He screeched and rolled to the ground, crushing it beneath him, but it was too fast and threw itself over his haunches. "I've been waiting a long time for this, CAT," the wolf snarled before leaping up and biting into the lion's hindleg and darting away again.

Goldenstar growled and knocked the wolf off its paws with his tail. He brought down his paws and slammed the wolf down hard.
    "What do you mean? TALK."
The wolf writhed weakly. "I was hoping you would ask. I don't think you've noticed, but the Darkwind Pack was driven from its home by the ever-growing Dragon-Wolves, curse their stupid tails."
"Wait... so that would make you...."
    "Alpha Wolverine. Yes."
"Well I don't really care, and you wouldn't ever need the savannah. You are forest wolves. You're pathetic in this biome. You don't have the same hunting advantages here as you did there, and you can't stalk. This is an environment more suited for lions, and we need this land," Goldenstar snorted.
"Hmmm. That may be true, but... I have other plans too, a plan that will make what you just said untrue, because all I need--"
The wolf unsheathed his claws and slashed into the unfocused lion's throat.
    "--is the Dragon-Lion amulet."
The lion staggered and fell to his side, grabbing the ground tightly. He roared, screamed, blood gurgling from his throat. "Run! Run my pride! Flee!" Goldenstar gasped for air and doubled over.

Wolverine sliced into the lion's face for good measure and leapt onto the lion den, howling victoriously. "TAKE THE TERRITORY! TAKE IT ALL!" He cackled and slid into the den.
"Once we have this lion territory, we can close in on the Dragon-Lions and take their amulet..."

  5. PART 4: Scorch gasped in horror at the battle scene. Airwind was right beside her, breathing deeply.
"What are we going to do..."
"We could tell the Dragon-Lions," offered Scorch.
"No.... we will be in more trouble than we're in for," Airwind replied with a troubled sigh. "And you're one of the last living dragons on Krästa, so you're pretty hunted."
Scorch frowned. She wanted to help, but she didn't want to die. But then an idea hit her.
"Airwind, fly a message to the eagles in Ialvamor Pass. We might not be able to help, but we can gain the Dragon-Lions a few allies."
